I am pleased to announce the launch of the Ireland Against Racism Fund 2026, with €1.4 million available to support local, regional and national projects that combat racism, promote racial equality and strengthen community cohesion across Ireland.
This year, I am also introducing funding for a small number of multi-annual projects, providing greater stability for organisations and helping to deliver lasting impact in our communities.
I want to encourage local community organisations and NGOs with a focus on anti-racism initiatives to apply. Community-led action is essential to building a safer, more inclusive Ireland for everyone.
🗓️ Applications are now open and will close at 12 noon on 1 July 2026.

The Carer’s Support Grant will be paid tomorrow to eligible carers providing full-time care to an older person or a person with a disability.
The grant is available regardless of means or social insurance contributions and is paid automatically to those in receipt of Carer’s Allowance, Carer’s Benefit or Domiciliary Care Allowance. Eligible full-time carers who are not receiving these payments can also apply.
The grant forms part of the Government’s ongoing support for carers and recognises the valuable role they play in supporting those who need care.
In addition, from July, the income thresholds for Carer’s Allowance is increasing from €625 to €1,000 for a single person and €2000 for a couple allowing more people to qualify for the payment and enabling existing recipients to earn more while continuing to receive support.

As a TD for Dublin South-West, as well as Minister of State for Migration, no day looks the same and they can vary greatly day-to-day.
One of the most rewarding parts of my job, however, is having the opportunity to meet constituents across Dublin South-West, listening to their experiences, and hearing directly about the issues that matter most to them.
These conversations are always valuable and help keep the focus on what really matters.
Please feel free to contact my office if there is ever anything I can do to be of assistance.

Really great news as another 42 schools will receive new special classes, including Greenhills Community College, St Mark's Community College, and St Mark's Junior School.
This builds on the significant progress already being made in increasing special education provision. These news classes will make a real difference for students, parents, and school communities, and I look forward to seeing this progress continue.

€3 million funding to remove river conveyance blockages and improvements to the Minor Works Scheme.
I welcome the fact that €3 million has been provided to local authorities across the country to remove river conveyance blockages. Such blockages are a common source of flooding.
Changes to the scheme also mean that further interim flood mitigation measures can be provided for communities where a major flood relief scheme is planned but not yet completed.
Following Storm Chandra I have raised the need for additional supports for communities affected by this flooding in Dublin South-West and I am glad to see this progress.
My thanks to my colleague Minister Kevin Boxer Moran, Minister of State for the OPW for his work on this.
